honestly, it's in the past tense.

like saying "my lunch from yesterday" or "my bowel movement from this morning."

the lunch is eaten, the toilet is flushed. just because it's digested and gone, doesn't cause it to stop being.

it's a literary thing, i guess one would have to be into writing and reading to understand it.
