Five fucking years. I'm going to call it now. I'm going to see one or two lj entries. I might see a dozen facebook entries. Maybe a blog post. Maybe a quick one column article on page 3 of a big metro paper.

Five years thousands of innocent people died. They are still dying. Now they're just dying scattered to the winds or locked away in FEMA camps.

And there are still no answers. There are still no reparations.

and there are still people dying.

People are scared of the dark. Few are willing to stop in the madness that consumes their world to pause and remember. Heavens forfend that they actually do something or support a preventative measure. When an event is no longer being held in the continuous media spotlight, people choose to forget.
