Hello World…

So, after a few minutes of struggling, I created a blog on my own domain. Then I did something very unclever. I attempted to import and sort entries and comments from over 10 years of other blogs. Normally wouldn’t've been that big of a deal, but out of the six plus megs of data, thousands of entries, and a few dozen thousands of comments connected to said entries, 95% of them were labeled as “private” or “restricted” or “locked”.
Which meant after hours of painfully importing so much data, and then reshuffling it, and then recycling it, we only came to learn that most of it was unaccessible. Well, to most of the world.
However, the tags, categories, and data-weight was still visible, which lead to very bad things. This blog became a library were most of the books were glued shut from cover to cover, with the occasional lost pages scattered amoungst the carpet. So yeah. Fuck that.
Now I start over. Again. Such is life, I suppose. I’m starting to learn something about myself. Mostly, I think I’m learning that I love the initial rush of the build, and the hard serve over the net, but when it comes time to add the final screws, I lose interest.
There’s a lesson here. I just don’t know what it is.
But the doors are open. So come in, read, leave something behind. If it pleases you.
