Maybe she wasn't directly asking for my two cents, but she did leave the door open...

"There comes a time where you can't just push things to the side. You have to kinda acknowledge them for what they are, then maybe you can put them on the back-burner.

But these things, oh they catch up to you. Best to be ready for them.

Your plans for winter break sound good. Get rid of some of the necessary noise in your life and prep yourself for the rest. Here's what I advise:

1. Be healthy: You can't build a strong home without a proper foundation. Before you start to dig in on your mind, make sure your body is taken care of. Eat right, drink right. Detox if you have to. The point is, while the mind controls the body, the body controls the mind. Try to be at your healthiest. It's a way to rid yourself of physical distractions.

2. Be internal: Get away from everything. Leave your phone at home. Avoid the internet. Shut off your t.v. Focus only on yourself. Mute the noise around you. Tell friends, family, acquaintances that you're going on vacation for a little while. Even if that only means the next room over. Even if that only means for an evening.

3. Be honest: Pen and paper. Write down every conflict in your life. Make honest assessments. List them in order of degree of pain. What is an irritant, what is an annoyance, what is heart-breaking, what is killing you. Tackle the little stuff first. Find out how to solve the problem, even if that means not letting it be a problem anymore. And don't just find a way to remove the problem, because once you do that, there's going to be a vacuum. Find something good to fill that vacuum. A new hobby, a series of books, or just stare at a goddamned goldfish for an hour.

The bonus round: Make a private journal. Share it with now one. Spill your blood there.

Keep a dream diary. Have it right next to your bed. As soon as you wake up, start writing immediately. No matter how fleeting, journal it.

Pick up a tarot card deck. Pick the prettiest ones. The ones you think are the most beautiful. Then start reading them. One at a time, once in a while. Find their language. Shake hands, make friends.

All of this should help. Or at least, it helped me.

Then again, check your sources. Am I really the right person to give advice here? Honestly? ;D"

I'm not too sure if I took my shoes off right away. I might've tromped mud across her living room on my way to the cooler.

C'est la vie. We live and we learn, yes?

I wasn't offended by you giving me advice if thats what you're worried about. Look, we may not be friends and I may not agree with a lot of the things you've done, but untill you intentionally do something to hurt me or fuck me over (or jake) i'm really not about to treat you like shit. Defending my friends is one thing, actually having a genuine personal problem with you for no reason whatsoever is another one entirely.

You aren't rude, you don't invade my personal life, you give me no reason to be mean to you or be offended by your casual interest in my journal posts and facebook updates.

So please, don't think I'm going to freak out because you "dared" to talk to me. I'm not like that. (Suprising I know, given the company I previously chose to associate with)

with what i've been through, it's natural to have that fear in the back of my head.

friends or enemies, it always comes down to the same thing. always be honest. friends don't deserve it, and enemies don't believe ya anyways.

enemy? maybe once? friend? maybe someday.

either way, you know how i feel about you.

so we got that, right?

at least know i'll always be honest with you.
