I was going to update my livejournal from the hospital, but strangely enough, this place was banned from the hospital under "blogging/social networks", even though facebook was not. figure that one out.

Anyways, I feel like a truck ran over me. Kate and I are both hobbling along like old folk. Her mom is here, and with her knee injury she's moving faster than we are.

But we're home, and we're safe, and between feedings I'm trying to get my shit together enough to make a short "happy birthday" video for Alex.

You will hear it a million times, and it will be hard to do at first, but try to sleep (or at least lay down and try to decompress a little) when Alex does. It really will make a world of difference. I'm so happy for you guys that she is doing so well!

I never mastered that. My kid is now 11 months old and I am a complete bimbo due to continued sleep deprivation.

We're pretty good about taking turns with cat naps whenever possible. We're also trying to kinda overlay our sleep schedules.

We're lucky, she spends most of her time sleeping. She's only really active late in the evening.

Max slept a LOT for the first couple of months. He also slept pretty well at night from about 2 weeks old until he was almost 3 months old. Then sleep went to hell.

He sleeps okay now, but meh. It took a while to get there, and he still is not even close to sleeping through the night. :D

I'm breastfeeding too. My son is 11 months old and we are still going. I'm not sure how long we're planning to keep it up, probably until 18 months or so.

As long as my milk continues to flow, we'll go as long as we can. The doctors definitely want me to continue for the first year, then I can decide if we need to change course.
