I did not plan for a few of my family members to die of cancer over the years. I did not plan to lose any friends to any new or existing medical conditions. I am a good and decent person that works hard, and cares about the people of the community. The people who I know and have loved over the years were good and decent people and did good things for the community. For you being willing to be so easily flippant about our survival (over nothing more than greed and entitlement) shows you are a cold and selfish person. Which is fine on it's own and I'm cool with it (and "yay capitalism" and I love a good success story and "oh yeah i built this all by myself") However I'm oddly uncomfortable with this because the way you feel about me is a way I could never feel about you. I only know a cruel person to be like that. To think like that. And it makes me uncomfortable because a lot of times people who think like this start acting like this. And then suddenly, as always, because we're all social animals, someone who lives near me or lives in my life, when they start thinking or acting like this, I notice they start becoming very cruel, and pretty evil. Thinking never really hurts people, and words never really hurt people, but it also starts to becoming action. And action is a lot more important than anything else, because action leads to permanent and sometimes damaging consequences. So yeah, I kinda have a problem with people like you, because you end up being people like the ones that keep me up at night. Cruel people are very willing to do bad things to the people around them. Last I checked, no one likes bad people doing cruel things around them. Anyways... let's make this a little more personal, because we're now talking about neighbours. And neighbours are a pretty personal subject. It's also one we can all relate to, because we all have them. And we'd all like to have nice neighbours. Good neighbours means having a good life. That little girl would be dead if it wasn't for social assistance. I want you to think about how you view the people in your community, and I want you to put her face on one of them. Maybe put her face one of your kids. How dare you be the person who is willing to let a child die for the sake of defending your entitlement. These people are your neighbours. Or your family. I would never be able to wish that to anyone. Even you. You're *demanding* it happen. Because money. You value money over life. You value money for your neighbour's life.
